Identification of sources of contamination, mineralogy and geochemistry of contaminants (dust from mining operations, tailing ponds, crushers, gaseous and solid emissions from smelters, technological waste waters ). Quantification of atmospheric dispersion of pollutants (Cu, Co, Cr, As, Pb, Zn, Hg, Stot) depending on the distance from sources of pollution, creating of meteorological model of dust fallout, verification of conceptual meteorological model through monitoriong of the content of pollutants in dust fallout, in top soil and vegetation. Quantification of pollutant fluxes in streams based on sampling of water and stream sediments and using data acquired from accessible mining archives, elucidation of factors controlling the mobilityof dissolved and suspended substances in water. Speciation of metals in soils using sequentional analysis, determination of the amount of bioavailable metals, quantification of factors controlling the entry of pollutants into agricultural products
